Escape the Backrooms is a horror puzzle adventure where endless hallways, hidden clues and careful exploration stand between you and freedom.

Most games reward players for finding the shortest path. Escape the Backrooms does the opposite. Every hallway looks almost identical, making it surprisingly easy to lose your sense of direction after only a few minutes. Yellow walls, humming fluorescent lights, and empty office spaces create an environment where uncertainty becomes your biggest obstacle. The real challenge isn't simply reaching an exit, it's figuring out whether you're moving closer to it at all.

GETTING LOST IS PART OF THE CHALLENGE

In Escape the Backrooms, freedom depends on collecting seven wooden planks scattered throughout the maze. One plank won't solve anything, and rushing rarely ends well. Every journey across the Backrooms becomes a small expedition with its own risks and rewards. Carrying another plank back to the exit slowly transforms the impossible into something achievable, giving every successful trip a real sense of progress.

The Map Gives Information, Not Answers

A helpful map tracks important locations, but it never removes the tension. Colored markers reveal where planks, potential threats, and the escape point are located, leaving players to decide which route is worth taking. Safe decisions often matter more than fast decisions. A longer path can become the smarter choice when danger appears nearby.
